Boyuan Chen is a PhD student at MIT working on AI and robotics. Boyuan's research focuses on building world models for embodied AI and robotics. Boyuan was a receiver of Seneff-Zue CS Fellowship. His work has been featured at various top machine learning and robotics conferences and media. Boyuan is a member of Scene Representation Group lead by Professor Vincent Sitzmann and Robot Locomotion Group lead by Professor Russ Tedrake. Boyuan is also previously affiliated with Google Deepmind, working on foundation models for decision making.

Before joining MIT, Boyuan obtained his bachelor’s degree in computer science and math at UC Berkeley, where he spent a signficant amount of time doing research at Berkeley Artificial Intelligence Research (BAIR) on deep reinforcement learning and unsupervised learning. He also spent a year studying philosophy during my undergrad. Boyuan is a big fan of chess, robots and boba.
